A thorough renovation was necessary to remove elements of several quick renovations to this historic townhouse in Brooklyn. Trim elements were maintained, while reconfiguring the rear parlor to open up the kitchen area and maintain a powder room. The second floor core was reconfigured to include a large bathroom and laundry room, while the basement rental added a bedroom to the front of the apartment and reorienting the kitchen to allow the living area to look out into the rear yard. (photographs by Brian Berman)
